The Computer Science Department in figures

The Computer Science department is one of 11 at IMT Atlantique, combining research and teaching. The Computer Science department in figures :

  • 30 members, including 26 teacher-researchers,
  • around thirty PhD students
  • a variable number of post-docs and research engineers.

6 research teams

The teaching and research staff are grouped into 6 research teams. Research work is carried out under the aegis of the CNRS, and focuses on the following areas: software architecture, traffic engineering for operated networks, assistance services for dependent people, semantic information processing, engineering teaching, development of decision-support tools for complex, heterogeneous data.

The Computer Science department is mainly involved in IT training for all engineering students, whatever their final specialization. The Computer Science department is also involved in other teaching areas (mathematics, network systems) and plays a major role in project management.
