Optics department - Arago platform
The ARAGO platform has the most advanced technologies for the production of micro or nano-patterned optical devices. The technology platform covers 145m2 of ISO 6 and 30 m2 ISO 7 certified areas. Historically designed for the development of core technology components, the multidisciplinary platform enables the development of advanced technologies for telecommunications and information systems.
Its main missions are to:
- Enable the manufacture of advanced technologies within IMT Atlantic
- Promote exchange between academic and industrial partners.
- To be an incubator for young companies
The research activities on the technological platform are divided into three themes:
1- The Diffractive Group performs research into the modelling, design, fabrication and industrial applications of Diffractive Optical Elements for holographic devices. DOEG's skills are based on 20+ years experience and on full internal design and fabrication facilities.
2- The renowned expertise of the ARAGO Liquid Crystal Group is focused on Liquid Crystal Technology for optical devices. The objectives and skills of ALCG are: the study, the modelling, the design and prototype manufacturing of optical systems and sub systems that use liquid crystal as active material.
3- The Flexible Transductors Group develop Sensors Network for health and environmental applications using flexible substrates, organic materials and innovative patterning technologies.
