Tremplin numérique, a new path to employment

The Tremplin Numérique course is a training programme, coordinated by IMT Atlantique and the association Les Petits Débrouillards Grand Ouest. It is open to all and aims to enable jobseekers to train for jobs in the digital sector in order to meet the needs of companies and facilitate their return to work.

The course is being developed as a continuation of the Digital Passport training programme with the "Grande école du numérique" accreditation, and which, in Brest, enabled 60 jobseekers to be trained between 2017 and 2019.

The aims of the course are:

  • to promote social inclusion by training unemployed people, those outside of the sphere of the traditional education system, people with few or no qualifications, and residents of the City's most disadvantaged neighbourhoods, with a special focus on women;
  • to transmit skills and a solid technical foundation focused on technology to meet the needs of businesses;
  • to build confidence in order to be able to respond to the emerging needs and professions of the digital sector;
  • to develop a network of professionals.

This training programme has been rolled out in Brest, Rennes and Rostrenen. Teacher-researchers and student engineers from IMT Atlantique (Brest and Rennes campuses) are part of the team training up to 60 jobseekers.

The training course is financed by the Brittany region, the European Solidarity Fund and has evolved as a  response to the State's call for "100% inclusion" projects (link in French) launched in June 2018.

Trainees receive a certificate of competence at the end of their training course.
