IMT Atlantique strengthens its partnership with Côte d'Ivoire

At the end of September, Christophe Lerouge, president of IMT Atlantique, and Stéphane Roy, Director of International Relations and Academic Partnerships, went on a mission to Côte d'Ivoire and received a warm welcome from their partners at the Institut National Polytechnique - Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) and the Ecole Supérieure Africaine des Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication (ESATIC). The mission provided an opportunity to draw up a very positive assessment of the cooperation and to work on the development of new exchange projects.

For several years, IMT Atlantique has been developing a strategic partnership with Côte d'Ivoire, collaborating with two institutions of excellence: the Institut National Polytechnique - Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) in Yamoussoukro and the Ecole Supérieure Africaine des Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication (ESATIC) in Abidjan. This partnership is based in particular on a double-diploma program, enabling a dozen Ivorian engineers a year to acquire a dual culture by joining IMT Atlantique.

Excellence scholarships to facilitate mobility

In addition to the scholarships set up by their countries, which strongly encourage outgoing mobility, Ivorian students selected by ESATIC, INP-HB and IMT Atlantique can obtain excellence scholarships, such as the Eiffel scholarship from the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the Drahi scholarship from the Mines-Telecom Foundation. The involvement of the Autorité de Régulation des Technologies de l'Information de la Côte d'Ivoire (ARTCI) is also noteworthy, as it is a key player in this field, funding a number of scholarships to help students come to France, and has already recruited several IMT Atlantique alumni.

The quality of the Franco-Ivorian double-diploma program between IMT Atlantique, ESATIC and INP-HB has been recognized by Europe, and has led to the award of an International Mobility MIC credit program (2020-2023) to promote the mobility of students and associate professors. The strengthening of the partnership is also reflected in the existence of a co-supervision agreement and the training of the first PhDs in France and Côte d'Ivoire.

IMT Atlantique's mission in Côte d'Ivoire is part of a dynamic collaboration that confirms its role in strengthening the skills and international outlook of Ivorian engineers.
