Professional integration of IMT Atlantique graduates
Professional integration of IMT Atlantique graduates: what can we learn from the 2024 survey?
75% of 2023 graduates were working at the time of the survey*.
The number of graduates choosing to extend their studies is stable, as are the number of PhD students and international volunteers.
74% of alumnis were recruited before graduation and 98% within 4 months.
The different indicators of integration
The various indicators for the integration of young graduates are still encouraging, with a net employment rate of 90% and an open-ended contract rate of 92%.
Salaries excluding bonuses in France remain on an upward trend, thanks to a strong job offer for engineers, which benefits recent graduates. The salaries of recent IMT Atlantique graduates are almost 6% higher than the average recorded by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, taking all engineering schools together.
The location of their first job is more evenly balanced between the Paris region and the provinces for 2023 graduates (53%), and 8% of them are now starting their career abroad.
The end-of-studies work placement: the main lever for recruitment
The results of the 2024 survey confirm the trend observed over several years. The main lever for recruitment remains the end-of-study internship. The use of professional social networks in the job search - including Linkedin, of course, - continues to grow, while other means are stagnating or declining. To keep pace with the realities of the job market and prepare IMT Atlantique graduates for their professional integration, we offer students dedicated programs and teaching modules throughout their three years at IMT Atlantique.
The distribution in terms of company size for first jobs remains stable. While large corporations continue to be attractive job providers (EDF, Wavestone et Orange are the top three recruiters for the class of 2023), young people who aspire to start their professional lives in mid-sized companies, or even SMEs, find opportunities, professions and challenges just as attractive.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming an increasingly important part of business practices, in order to respect the principles of sustainable development (social, environmental and economic). Our young graduates see this first-hand, and it is even a decisive criterion of choice for 20% of them, a figure that continues to rise.
In addition, the necessary ecological transition is prompting economic players to change their practices and/or organization, and to develop new products and processes. Nearly 83% of our 2023 graduates in employment consider the ecological transition to be one of their employer's concerns.
