This thesis addresses the exploitation of multipath radar signals to locate and track a Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) target behind a wall, also known as “Around-the-Corner Radar” (ACR). Despite the promising potential of ACR highlighted by previous studies, the NLOS localization accuracy remains a major challenge due to ambiguities indicated by high test levels for ghost positions. To address these challenges, we show first the benefits that can be expected by using an antenna array at the receiver side. However, due to the restricted number of antennas available, the enhancement provided by path Directionof-Arrival information remains limited. Consequently, we propose additional algorithmic solutions based on the management of the number of paths and target tracking. These solutions, evaluated on synthetic signal and real data experiments, are shown to bring significant improvements in localization quality.
