A study programme organised by a consortium of 6 higher education institutions
This study programme , organised by the "Wasaa" Consortium (Western Alliance for Scientific Actions with Australia) comprised 6 higher education institutions from Brittany: Ensta Bretagne, ÉniB, Université Bretagne Occidentale (UBO), École Navale, IMT Atlantique and Université Bretagne Sud (UBS). This cooperation is part of the collaboration between the Brittany Region and the South Australia Region in the field of defence and is based on the intergovernmental agreement signed on 20 December 2016 in Adelaide between Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. Wasaa Academy Summer/Winter School which receives financial support from the French Embassy in Australia has received the "Creative France Australia short program" label.
Wasaaa Academy represents a unique opportunity to strengthen the links between the regions of Brittany and South Australia in the field of higher education. For students at the bachelor, master and doctorate levels, it is an opportunity to benefit from the excellence of training in the naval field in Finistère, Brittany and to discover the Breton and French culture of a maritime region.
These three weeks, dedicated to current and cutting-edge topics in the naval industry such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, human factors, and robotics, also provided an opportunity for industrial visits, an introduction to the French language and numerous cultural and social activities for French and foreign students.
