Catherine Back travelled to Nantes for a special opportunity to meet her sponsees. After a tour of the SUBATECH laboratory and meetings with those in charge of training and the Nuclear field, Catherine Back gave a multiplex presentation on our three campuses!

An opportunity to present her background and career, share her vision of the engineering profession, and answer questions from students and PhD students on the challenges of the energy sector and the key qualities needed for a successful career. Her impressive background and vision offered them invaluable advice for their professional future.

This meeting with Catherine Back illustrates the importance of the link between education, research and industry.
Thanks to its strategic partnership with EDF, IMT Atlantique is strengthening the expertise of its student engineers and young researchers in major areas such as energy, digital technology and cyber security.
Then, apprentice engineer, Capucine Bechemin, and 3rd year student, Léon Boivin Petit, interviewed Catherine Back at the IMT Atlantique’s incubator:
👉How can a young engineer cultivate a spirit of innovation while respecting the safety and regulatory requirements of the nuclear sector?
👉With the rise of Artificial Intelligence, the power needs of the digital sector are exploding. How can an energy engineer anticipate and support this transformation, while guaranteeing sustainable and secure production?
👉At IMT Atlantique, we are trained in digital, energy and environmental issues. How do you see this as an asset?
👉What would be your main advice to future engineers and young researchers to succeed and flourish in their careers?
