Collaboration agreement signed with Naval Group

On 18 April 2023, Naval Group, the European naval defence leader, and the Institut Mines-Télécom, IMT Atlantique, Mines St Etienne and IMT Mines Alès, signed a framework agreement expanding their collaboration for teaching, recruitment of students, and joint research, innovation and development work.

Special relationships with targeted engineering schools

Naval Group is an international high-tech company that designs, builds and maintains submarines and ships. To support its recruitment plan and its ambitions for expansion both in France and internationally, Naval Group is establishing privileged relationships with targeted engineering schools in order to recruit young engineers and inaugurate R&D partnerships.

The company is already building on its employer attractiveness (teaching, participation in various recruitment exercises and commissions/juries, etc.) and is also forming research partnerships, particularly with IMT Atlantique in the context of the RESOH, OceaniX and Cyberdefence of Naval Systems Chaires and the IRL Crossing laboratory.

A comprehensive partnership for training, research & innovation

By signing today at their research site in Bouguenais, Naval Group and Institut Mines-Télécom, IMT Atlantique, Mines Saint Etienne, IMT Mines Alès, are officializing their shared desire to go further together by organizing a 5-year partnership in the scientific and technical domains for training, research & innovation, thus increasing their reach for all joint actions.

The agreement will cover training, recruitment and participation in the life of the schools and campuses (courses, visits, jury, hosting of apprentices, internships, final year projects, etc.) as well as collaboration on studies, trials and research.

In terms of research and development, the partnership will cover many scientific and technical fields relating to the industry of the future, human-systems interaction, energy, data visualisation, cyber security, nuclear energy, underwater communications and artificial intelligence, to name but a few.

IMT Atlantique, Mines Saint-Etienne and IMT Mines Alès will also be able to carry out applied research on behalf of Naval Group as part of collaborative or cooperative research activities in France or abroad.
