Former deputy Director of Research and Innovation, Guillaume Moreau, 51, takes over as Director of Research and Innovation at IMT Atlantique on December 1st, 2024. He succeeds Laurence Le Coq, who has been appointed Director of Research and Economic Development at Institut Mines Télécom.
Guillaume Moreau's academic and professional career
Professor of Computer Science and Deputy Director of Research and Innovation at IMT Atlantique since 2020, Guillaume Moreau holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Rennes I - IRISA, and an engineering degree in Computer Science from ENSIIE. During a career dedicated to teaching and research, Guillaume Moreau was Professor of Computer Science at École Centrale de Nantes, then at IMT Atlantique, which he joined in 2020. He has also developed a solid experience in team leadership and management as Director of the Computer Science and Mathematics Department, then Director of Training at École Centrale de Nantes.

Research activities and publications
At the same time, Guillaume Moreau is involved in a wide range of research activities at Lab-STICC in the field of virtual and augmented reality. Author of 35 publications in international and national journals, 5 books and more than 100 papers at international conferences, he has supervised some 30 theses, chaired numerous thesis juries and taken part in evaluation committees and projects for the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the French High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Teaching (HCERES).

In the course of his various experiences and successive positions, Guillaume Moreau has had the opportunity to participate in or lead collaborative and bilateral research projects, supported by public and private funding and involving academic players, public research centers and private industry, in France and abroad. His appointment as Director of Research at IMT Atlantique is a natural extension of this role.
