Workshop "Mediation and language teaching-learning at university and in Grandes Ecoles"

LCI participated in organizing and running an IMT Didalang (Institut Mines Telecom) / UPLEGESS (Union des Professeurs de langues étrangères des grandes écoles et de l’enseignement supérieur) workshop on the theme of mediation.

This workshop, which was organized on 30 January 2002, took place within in the context of the Languages working group of the Education committee of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE) at Paris School of Business (PSB). It brought together over fifty language teachers and teacher-researchers.

The workshop was entitled "Médiations et enseignement-apprentissage des langues dans les grandes écoles et les universités" ("Mediation and language teaching-learning at university and in Grandes Ecoles").

Organized within in the context of the Languages working group of the Education committee of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE), this workshop aimed to investigate the multiple and puridisciplinary dimensions of mediation relating to language teaching and learning, education and research in the specific context of grandes écoles of engineering and management, and of universities. The issue was undertaken both from the perspective of the mediators themselves (institutions, teachers, learners), and the mediating processes.

Alison Gourvès-Hayward & Cathy Sablé of LCI presented a paper entitles "Les acteurs de la médiation dans l'enseignement supérieur, entre théorie et pratique : les professeurs de langues en première place".
