Industry of the Future

Presentation

The Industry of the Future is an industrial revolution linked to the development of digital technology. It transforms the entire production chain, from product design to recycling, including production and maintenance techniques. The entire chain integrates the power of digital tools: computer-aided design, simulation, control and optimisation of tools and production processes, use of virtual and augmented reality, predictive maintenance, production of single parts on adaptable lines are just a few examples of the developments underway. This chair includes general engineering.

This project is part of the multi-annual plan (2021-2027) for research and innovation in Bretagne : Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3).

This plan must meet expectations in terms of societal transitions, including the digital and industrial transition. The economy of industry for intelligent production is one of the five strategic innovation areas identified in Bretagne.

Partners involved in the Chair

IMT Atlantique and laboratories of which he is co-supervisor: Lab-STICC (UMR CNRS 6285), developing skills and research in the field of the Industry of the Future for several years. IMT Atlantique is member of the Alliance for the Industry of the Future (AIF).

Lab-STICC is developing a cross-cutting programme on this theme which integrates the  SCAP (Systèmes Cyber-physiques Adaptatifs de Production) deployed in Université de Bretagne Sud.

UniSA is also strongly involved in this area and wishes to develop its relations with France in this field. 

The main objective of the Chair holder is therefore to concretise academic and industrial cooperation around the themes of the Industry of the Future by setting up research projects and creating and developing industrial and academic cooperation programmes.
