Original and flexible forms of partnership to facilitate industrial research.
With more than 12 years of experience in setting up chaires, IMT Atlantique uses this tool in response to the strategic challenges of its various partners to develop innovative research and/or teaching themes at national and international level and also to support local societal transformation.
The industrial chaire (the first type of chair developed at IMT Atlantique) brings together the university and at least one industrial partner such as SME/SMI, ETI (Entreprise de Taille Intermediaire) and large companies in order to build together in an innovative and competitive way. The industrial partner provides funding to match the stakes over the long term. It can be teaching and/or research chairs.
The academic chaire is created at the international level around research projects carried out by IMT Atlantique and a national research institute (CNRS, Inserm, Inria). The university holds 3 academic chaires to support the development of research.
