Because of their necessary openness and economic value, networks are prime targets for attackers. The HiSec project is developing new methods and tools to secure the networks of the future.

More specifically, it covers 5 major objectives.
• The first objective concerns the protection of these networks, through the specification and deployment of end-to-end security policies.
• The second objective is to detect and manage attacks in these complex environments.
• The third objective is to protect personal data in the case of lawful interception.
• The fourth objective is to model the operation of the security mechanisms of these networks, so as to ensure that the security services provided correspond to the needs of the applications calling on them.
• The fifth objective is to formalize the link between hardware and software layers on the one hand, and security properties on the other, to ensure the integration of cyber mechanisms in all network layers.
Method
The first six months were devoted to getting the project up and running: defining modes of collaboration and tools, taking part in launch meetings, preparing the first recruitments. The first scientific work began with the recruitment of two PhD students and a post-doc. Three other candidates for project topics are currently being identified and prepared for recruitment. The project took part in PEPR general meetings and organized a first physical meeting in early 2024.
The project has also started thinking about experimental needs, in connection with the project on platforms (PC10). We have also appointed a correspondent for eco-responsible digital actions, in collaboration with the JEN project (PC7).
