Experts for evaluation of SEED applications

The SEED program relies on the participation of a significant number of external expert reviewers in its strive for an objective and unbiased evaluation and selection process.

Register interest as an external expert

Interested staff members of an academic or non-academic organization are encouraged to register their interest through the SEED application site (not yet open for call #2)!

Selection of experts

Experts selected by the Executive board will receive a contract defining all the rights, obligations and conditions applicable to the activity of being part of the SC, and will be requested to additionally sign the “SEED code of conduct” that follows the model of the European Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers used by the EC and that will define the necessary properties of impartiality, accuracy, objectivity, consistency and confidentiality.

To ensure an independent and fair evaluation process, experts will be asked to return a signed declaration of no conflict of interest once assigned the applications to be evaluated (within two working days). In case of conflict of interest, the application will be immediately assigned to a new expert. By conflict of interest, we understand:

  • The expert and the candidate are or have been members of the same entity (work link)
  • They have family ties or other formal close connections.
