The activity of the Department of Languages and International Culture focuses on three areas:

  • Instruction in foreign languages (English, German, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Russian) and French for foreign students (three weeks of intensive French lessons in preparation for the academic year, then French lessons as part of the curriculum). For more practical information.
  • Research carried out in the GLAT (Applied LinguisticsGroup ) in the areas of  terminology, mediation and interculturality and IT applied to language teaching X and of Engineering Education in TREE (Transdiciplinary Research in Engineering Education (a large number of edited volumes, book chapters, articles and international & national conference papers.
  • International Relations and  international experience:
French students are required to spend at least three months abroad during the three years of their engineering course. Most students study abroad for a longer period (six months)  with one of the options  offered by the school (a semester or academic year abroad, double diploma agreements, final year internship or extended business internship...)

These subjects are taught by both permanent lecturers and researchers, and many temporary lecturers. The department also co-supervises post-graduate students in cooperation with French and foreign universities as well as interns writing Bachelor’s or Master’s theses.
