Who is eligible to apply for the French Summer School?
Any student aged 18 and more can apply for the French Summer School on Nantes campus.
What is the French Summer School (FSS) ?
IMT Atlantique organizes intensive French language and culture courses in August every year. It is the opportunity for international students to improve significantly their French level and to get familiar with the French living and study environment.
Experienced teachers provide quality teaching in small classes of 12 students. Students are divided in several groups from beginner to advanced language level.
Some activities and visits are set up after class and at week ends (sport, cooking, parties, etc. Visits of Nantes and the region)
When is the French Summer School ?
The French Summer School is from July 22th to August 21rd.
When is the application deadline?
Students have to apply for the French Summer School before mid June.
However, non-European students who need a visa should apply at least 3 months before the beginning of the program (the student visa process takes 2 to 3 months. Please ask for information at Campusfrance office or the French Embassy in your country).
When should I arrive at IMT Atlantique - Nantes campus ?
Students are required to arrive at Nantes 2 to 3 days before the beginning of the French Summer School. It is not necessary to arrive earlier, we organize Orientation days during the first 2 days of the program to help students with the administrative formalities (registrations, student insurance, opening bank accounts, computer facilities, etc).
Which language certificate is needed before the FSS?
Students who have already studied French can precise their level in the "Language Proficiency" section of these application platform. The certificates mentioned can be the DELF, TCF or TEF score.
Complete beginners in French language are also accepted.
In any case, the Professors will test all the students' French proficiency upon arrival at IMT Atlantique Nantes campus, in order that each student learn French in the most suitable level group.
Where will I stay during the French Summer School?
Students can live on campus in individual & furnished rooms including a private bathroom and a small kitchen. More information about the Students' residence, called la Maison des élèves
There are excellent sport facilities and a student restaurant in the campus.
Will I get a certificate at the end of the French Summer School?
Students get a Diploma at the end of the French Summer School, it includes the number of study hours and the ECTS credits obtained by the student thanks to this program.
Cost and Tuition fee payment schedule
The cost of the French Summer School depends on the situation of the student (university Partner or individual registration, etc). Please contact us directly if you need a quotation.
These tuition fees include the intensive French language and culture classes, activities after class and visits organized during the week ends. It does not include the living expenses (accomodation, food).
