Seven international students in the IMT Atlantique Master of Science programme in Process and Bio-Process Engineering and Sustainable Nuclear Engineering feature among the 48 prize-winners of the "Make Our Planet Great Again" call for projects. They will receive an excellence scholarship toward a course of study in France related to the specifications of the call for projects.
"Make Our Planet Great Again" is an initiative of French President, Emmanuel Macron, launched June 1st 2017 following the decision of the United States to withdraw from the Paris climate accords. It is a call to join France in the combat against global warming. This call for projects concerns researchers, teachers, entrepreneurs, non-profits and NGOs, as well as students and society at large. The initiative is coordinated by Campus France along with the Ministries of Ecological and Inclusive Transition, of Europe and Foreign Affairs, of Higher Education and of Research and Innovation.
Three broad areas of research have been given priority: earth system science, climate change and sustainability science and energy transition. Four programmes are offered to encourage international students and researchers to come to France: jointly funded doctoral contracts, jointly funded post-doctoral programmes, excellence scholarships for master's students and funding for short research residencies.
Master of Science in Process and Bio-Process Engineering and Sustainable Nuclear Engineering
Seven international students enrolled in an IMT Atlantique Master of Science programme are among the 48 prize-winners who were awarded a scholarship.* Four are students in the Project Management for Environmental and Energy Engineering (PM3E) programme based at IMT Atlantique: Oscar ACUNA-DIAZ (Costa Rica); Escarleth CRUZ (Nicaragua); Arielle Théodora GUIADEM KOKOUEMEGNE (Cameroon) and Xing WANG (China). Two are students in the Microalgae Bioprocess Engineering programme (MBE) based at the University of Nantes: Mira ABOU RJEILY (Lebanon); Christelle RABBAT (Lebanon). One is a master's student in Sustainable Nuclear Engineering: Applications and Management (SNEAM): Aishwarya Gopal KHARADE (India)
Through Make Our Planet Great Again, they have just received valuable assistance to help them make the planet a better place.
*Excellence scholarships for master's students (amounting to €1060 per month) are offered for a duration of 12 to 24 months.
