Laurent BRISSON received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Université Nice Sophia-Antipolis (France) in 2006. During his Ph.D., he worked on the integration of expert knowledge in data mining processes to extract relevant information from a human expert's point of view. In 2017, he joined IMT Atlantique (previously Telecom Bretagne) as an associate professor in the DECIDE team of the Lab-STICC laboratory.

Currently, his work focuses on the analysis of social networks, with a particular emphasis on the detection of communities in temporal networks and anomaly detection in link streams. He collaborates with economists and sociologists on interdisciplinary research to better understand community structures within networks over time. Additionally, he explores novel approaches to visually represent graph metrics in immersive 3D environments and conducts research on learning analytics, analyzing learner interactions to enhance educational content and improve the understanding of learning processes.
