The LS2N Lab (Nantes Laboratory of Digital Sciences) is a joint research laboratory (UMR6004), under the administration of and in partnership with the University of Nantes, the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), Ecole Centrale de Nantes, IMT Atlantique and Inria (French Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation). It brings together the expertise of the two joint research labs located until now on the Nantes Campus, in the field of information technology and cybernetics (the LINA and IRCCyN labs).
SCIENTIFIC project
- The scientific project is made up of:
- Five hubs of departmental skills:
- Signals, Imaging, Ergonomics and Languages,
- The Science of Data and Decision Aids,
- The Science of software and Distributed Systems,
- System Design and Management,
- Robotics, Methodology, Calculation - Five transversal hubs (related to the scientific and societal challenges that the lab seeks to take up, taking advantage of the assets available in Nantes):
- Entreprises of the future,
- Management of energy and environmental impact,
- Life Sciences,
- Véhicles and mobility,
- Creation, culture and digital society
- Five hubs of departmental skills:
IMT Atlantique is particularly present in the fields of software engineering, optimisation and decision aids, logistics and production systems, robotics and cyber-physics systems, through six research teams from the LS2N Lab.
ORGANISATION OF THE laboratorY:
- Claude Jard, lecturer at the University of Nantes, is the laboratory's director. The laboratory is located on five sites in Nantes, including that of IMT Atlantique.
- Le LS2N lab is made up of approximately 450 people, of whom half are permanent staff (103 from the University, 34 from IMT Atlantique, 31 from Ecole Centrale Nantes, 30 from CNRS and 3 from Inria).
